Senate elections, part two: If we can't cancel it, at least don't donate it

The following lines will bring such short medallions - especially for more famous faces. Next, we'll show how each defending Senate candidate voted on important issues like water ownership and fraud, free speech and anti-snooping, and other important issues.

·Václav Love(SEN 21) – District No. 21 (Prague 5)

He defends his mandate for the SEN 21 movement. For almost his entire working career, he has always been paid only from citizens' taxes; either as a criminal police officer or later in activist (non-)profits such as Transparency International (TI), which he then advocated and represented in his private law firm from 2010 to 2014.

After 2014, he became a senator, first as a non-party member for the coalition of the Green Party and KDU-ČSL. In 2020, he is already running for his own Senator 21 grouping, just as he will this year.

His political views and anchorings are typical of his party's closeness to progressives in the Greens and progressives in TI who would happily flood our country with illegal migration and willingly collaborate with EU neo-colonialism. What about the issue of free speech and internet freedom? Elements with an opinion that deviates from the established indicators and goals of progressive democracy belong behind bars for a long time.

·David Smoljak(STAN) – District No. 24 (Prague 9)

David Smoljak will face opera singer Dagmar Pecková. His brother Filip accused him of fraud during the property settlement after the death of his parents. He also figured as a vocal supporter of the sleeping bag coup in Czech Republic, when the public media subsequently became the mouthpiece of "truth and love".

And like a true agent of "truth and love" he supports the proxy war in Ukraine, figuratively speaking to the last Ukrainian and the last crown of the Czech taxpayer.

·Lumir Ashburner(ODS) – district no. 9 (Pilsen-city)

Svéráz, Pilsen svéráz. Supporter of NATO and US Army. On the issue of the war in Ukraine, it is similar to the aforementioned senator. Aschenbrenner is a eurosceptic of "moderate progress within the limits of the law". However, in the Senate, he raises his hand for all malice and steadfastly sticks to the "anti-Babiš" line and everything against the current government coalition. He also has experience with feature stacking.

However, I found one small insignificant plus, that he criticized Peter Pavel for his coat-changing and lying before and during the campaign about his own biography. Nevertheless, he eventually supported him in the race for the presidency.

·Adéla Šipová(Pirates) – District No. 30 (Kladno)

A typical representative of liberal democracy, run-of-the-mill progressivism and suicidal migration policy. Euro-Atlanticist and enthusiastic skater. On the issue of the war in Ukraine, it is similar to the two senators mentioned above. She doesn't mind eco-terrorism and likes all kinds of queerness around LGBTQ+.

·Jan Grulich(TOP 09) – district no. 48 (Rychnov nad Kněžnou)

A typical TOP player. A liberal democrat, of whom there are currently five on the fingers of one hand in Czech politics.

·Tomas Golán(ODS / SEN 21) – district no. 78 (Zlín)

He's pretty much a mainstream liberal Democrat, with a few minor deviations, such as giving same-sex couples the same rights as "straight couples" but not allowing their union to be called marriage. He also opposes the Green Deal as a means of supporting China and destroying European industry. It is not without interest that, as chairman of the Senate Constitutional and Legal Committee, he strongly opposed the procedure used by Petr Pavel to select candidates for constitutional judges. He also led resistance against the nomination of Josef Baxa, in whom he feared excessive concentration of power in the judiciary.

·Jaroslav Chalupsky(for Svobodné) – district no. 15 (Pelhřimov)

If I had to sum up his attitudes in some nice slogan, it could easily be "Czechs and the Czech Republic first, everyone else after them" and "rainbows belong in the sky, not in the streets with bare behinds".

So it is not true that the Senate is useless. Just because it still exists and is staffed by specific politicians who have been (disciplined) elected to their seats, they very likely affect your lives far more than you care to admit.

When we can't cancel it(in today's layout of the Chamber of Deputies, the Senate and the Constitutional Court), so at least don't donate.
