Let's not send people to the meat grinder: Protection from forced recruitment, compliance with the law and return after war

In a commentary for the Parliamentary Papers, I clearly defined the position on the debates about withdrawing protection from Ukrainian men of military age. I refuse to let the Czech Republic serve as an extended arm of Kyiv's recruiters and send people against their will into the trenches of a proxy conflict. A true humanitarian approach consists of protecting human life, strictly enforcing the laws of the host country, and pragmatically preparing for the post-war return of refugees to rebuild their homeland.

Maybe an unpopular opinion...but I wouldn't send Ukrainian refugees to Zelensky's meat grinder before the war. I commented for Parliamentarians, the full text of the question and answer here:

Ukrainian men of military age will no longer receive protection in the Czech Republic. Are further changes needed in the attitude of the Czech state towards Ukrainians who came to the Czech Republic after the war began?

1) I am against sending Ukrainian refugees back to the war, of course, on the assumption that they will behave as guests in the Czech Republic (or elsewhere in Europe), i.e. strictly observe our laws and try to the best of their ability to benefit our country, which provided them with asylum before the war and forced recruitment. Whoever supports the war, let him return to it and replace some involuntarily "busified" poor man.

2) As for those who fled from Zelenskyi's recruiters, sometimes at great personal risk, in my opinion they fulfill the purpose and purpose of the asylum institute, because if they return they would be at risk of death or inhumane treatment, which I conclude from the stories that penetrate through the curtain of pro-war propaganda from Ukraine. The common people of Ukraine are the real victims of a war that should have ended a long time ago, for example in Istanbul 2022. The "West", the EU and our mainstream politicians actually despise Ukrainians and see them as nothing more than meat for the meat grinder in the proxy war between the US/NATO and Russia, which has been the point from the beginning.

3) After the war, it will be necessary for asylum seekers and refugees to return, the Czech Republic cannot maintain their diaspora forever, and someone will also have to restore their country, which cannot be anyone other than its citizens. I don't begrudge them, but every nation has its destiny, the politicians it chooses. Georgians were lucky, Ukrainians were not.
