When courage wins. A day that restored my faith in the young generation
It wasn't just medals and cups that were decided on the dance floor. Behind every performance were hundreds of hours of hard work, sacrifice, support from parents and the work of coaches. Yesterday showed me something much more valuable than score sheets - a generation of young people full of talent, determination, mutual support and dreams. And that's why they were all winners.
Yesterday I had the honor of being a part of something wonderful.
I sat in the auditorium and watched the children on the dance floor. Children of different ages, with different dreams, different stories, but with the same desire - to show what's in them. And each of them left a piece of their heart there. I didn't just see the dance.
I saw hundreds of hours of training, tired legs, chafed heels, nervousness before a performance and tears after a failed step. I saw tremendous hard work, discipline, courage and determination not to give up. I saw children who learned to rely on each other, trust each other and pull together.
And behind them were the parents. Moms and dads who drove them to trainings, supported them, encouraged them and experienced their every success and failure. There were coaches who put their time, energy and a piece of their life into them. Yes, there was competition for medals, cups and placings.
But when I looked into those glowing eyes, I understood that the winners were not only those who stood on the podium.
They were all winners.
Every child who found the courage to step onto the dance floor. Every child who has surpassed himself. Every child who has learned that success is not just about winning, but about the path that leads to it. So often today we hear that the young generation is lost. That children live only in a virtual world, hidden behind mobile phone screens. Yesterday, however, I saw something completely different.
I saw a generation full of life, energy, talent and dreams. A generation that knows how to work hard. A generation that knows how to rejoice in the success of others. A generation that knows that nothing great can be achieved without cooperation, trust and mutual support. And I admit that I had tears in my eyes several times.
Not because of the results.
But because of how much beauty, hope and humanity I saw in those young people today.
If the future is in their hands, then we have much more reason for optimism than we may realize.
Thank you to all the children for today's lesson. They reminded me that true strength does not lie in winning over others, but in having the courage to overcome yourself every day. And that's why you were all winners yesterday.
