The European Commission wants higher real estate taxes: Brazen ideas of Brussels threaten the family silver and the freedom of the Czechs
I fundamentally reject the European Commission's recommendation to increase property taxes, which I consider to be a direct attack on the social, economic and moral security of our households. For more than three-quarters of the population of the Czech Republic, owning a home represents a life-long earned value and a fundamental pillar of personal freedom, not speculative property. The plans for higher taxation of private property, which we have built from already hard-taxed money, mean the punishment of hard-working people and an unacceptable interference with economic independence, which, as a descendant of free Moravian peasants, I strongly oppose.
Raise property taxes? NO, not by mistake!!! Let the European Commission shove these recommendations where the sun doesn't shine! A citizen built a house with his own efforts, where every brick was paid for with hard-taxed money, or he paid off an apartment for twenty years so that he would have a place to live in his old age - and the bastards plan to drive him out of their own taxes and redistribute it to some migrant or non-native? I absolutely reject this.
My reasons against estate taxes are as much economic as they are moral and emotional. People must remain independent and free. And an integral part of freedom is economic security. The fact that a person is in control of the circle of "his things", he does not have to beg anyone, ask anyone for permission, pay anyone a fee for being himself, for having worked it out and living in his own way. That it has a place where "I can do mine? I'll answer myself". This emotion motivated me to resist the covid restrictions in court, when various smart people preached to us when we could walk the dog or go outside the cadastre of the municipality, and without a green dot we were not allowed to even buy lunch in a restaurant. And a similar emotion arouses in me a visceral resistance to the plans of the current smart people to tax personal real estate and capital assets.
Personal freedom and personal property are the basic sources of strength of a self-confident citizen. Buckles away from them!
As everyone who grows older and loses energy, who has children and wants to leave them some security, feels: The family silver is not touched. And for more than three quarters of Czechs, the family silverware is their own real estate. It didn't fall from the sky, they didn't steal it or speculate anywhere (with the exception of the truth-seeker Bakala and the OKD apartments...), but either they built it themselves, or they spent years paying hard for it, or it was the work of their ancestors who did the work before them. And thanks to this, they now have a certainty, at least a small one, but extremely important - that they are sitting "on their own", from where no one will drive them out and they don't have to pay any estate.
When I read these ideas of the EU, the ancient genes of free peasants from Moravia rebel in me (one great-ancestor was only found in the matrix from 1612, he was a free semi-laner not far from Olomouc). Would you like to impose tithes on a robot? Stick to you!
