The temporary exception to the migration pact is a trap: the Czech Republic faces the threat of mandatory relocation or a high "burning fee" in 2027

I strongly criticize the European migration pact and warn against the non-transparent system of exceptions, which applies to the Czech Republic only for the year 2026 based on the presence of Ukrainian refugees. If the EU authorities do not extend this temporary relief for 2027, we will either be forced to accept migrants from other parts of the world or pay a solidarity penalty of €20,000 for each rejected person. Following the example of Hungary, I therefore call for a complete rejection of the pact due to the protection of state sovereignty, as I consider the exclusive right to decide on the composition of the population in one's own territory to be an insurmountable pillar of the sovereign state.

The Hungarians rejected the migration pact and our government should reject it too. Attention, the Czech Republic does NOT have an exception from the migration pact!! Mandatory relocation or "migration penalty" threatens us in exactly the same way as other EU states.

What exactly is the "exception"? Because we currently have migrants from Ukraine in the Czech Republic, as well as migrants from Africa in other member states, we were exempted from the obligation to pay into the "solidarity fund". Temporarily. For this year, 2026. Whether the Eurocrats grant us this exemption next year is completely beyond our control - the parliament, the government; the exemption process is extremely non-transparent. So in a year we can apply for an exemption, but we may not get it. If we don't get it, we will have to accept relocations already in 2027, or pay a EUR 20,000 "burning fee" for each one not accepted.

The exception for the Czech Republic is therefore temporary - it will only last as long as we have hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians in the Czech Republic under "temporary protection". Do you remember what a unit of temporality is? One more. So if we keep Ukrainians under temporary protection in the Czech Republic for the time being, or forever, there is a chance that the "Brussels deities" will look kindly on us in 2027 and beyond, and we will not have to pay or accept "Belfast surgeons". But if we say, enough of temporary protections, the Migration Pact will hit us with its full weight, Nice motivation, don't you see? Such a European...

The Hungarians have a right - and it's good that their new Magyar can look like Leyen's sweetheart (to get the billions blocked by Brussels to Orbán), but he can defend Hungarian interests in fundamental matters. Babiš's government should be similarly tough and REALLY reject the migration pact, as they claimed before and shortly after being elected. Do not maneuver and postpone the solution.

Why is it necessary to reject the Migration Pact, from the point of view of constitutionality? The Czech Republic is a sovereign state. Three elements make a state a state: state territory, state population and state power (that is, the power exercised on that territory by that population). We, the citizens of the Czech Republic, therefore have the sovereign right to decide who will enter or reside in the territory of the Czech Republic. We can assign this right to any third party, temporarily or permanently; we can even adopt some international convention for that purpose; but we can terminate any convention and terminate the right of residence of anyone who is not a citizen, for any reason or no reason. Is it hard? Yes, but citizenship is a privilege, not a right for every immigrant. They are not completely lawless - they have the right to be citizens again in their own country and to expel any foreigner from it, including us. Such are the centuries-old rules of the game. It is not desirable to cancel these rules and hand over to the European Commission our sovereignty in deciding who will be relocated to our territory, or what fine we will have to pay in case of refusal.

The solution to migration is not to accept half of Africa or Asia into Europe. The solution is to give peace to the source countries of migration, and to fight against attacks, coups, sanctions and regime changes, which make it impossible to live there and which, unfortunately, are often organized by the "value" Western states.

In the European Parliament, I will be behind the "cordon sanitaire" in all votes for the revision or cancellation of the Migration Pact, together with fellow MEPs from France, the Netherlands, and Hungary, even though we are still a minority. But the task of the minority in politics is to do everything to become the majority after the next election.
